Because I am a creative person, my mind is always active. Yoga soothes it and slows down my thinking. Asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises) also reduced the painful symptoms of fibromyalgia syndrome in my body over the years.
After my mam passed away I was in a dark place; I had nursed her for two years and she died at 48. Thankfully, in 2004 I had the privilege of learning yoga. My first teacher was from India and I learned one-to-one in the ancient way. With regular practice it felt like yoga was bringing the light back into my life.
Being in Nepal and Africa inspired me. Back in Ireland, I finally quit smoking. My health flourished, my cooking and art became more creative. Next I went to Morocco. After teaching yoga there for six months I figured it was time to do some "official" teacher training. I am happy to share what I know and very grateful for all that has been passed on to me. My other interests are makind art, reading, spending time in nature, dancing, music and writing.
